The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ulster County is to inspire and enable all youth to lead better lives by providing positive opportunities to develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and adults.
The Woodstock Fire Department has been serving the community since 1906. Primarily still a rural and residential area, the District is located 120 miles north of New York City and 25 miles west of the city of Kingston. From operating with a hose cart and a hand pumper 100 plus years ago, today they operate out of five stations with 22 pieces of equipment which provide fire protection and paramedic EMS services to 6300 residents and 69 square miles of response area in the Township of Woodstock. In 1930 the District responded to 20 incidents. Today their 170 members respond to almost 1000 incidents annually.
Many things have changed since 1906, but their dedication to helping their neighbors and the protection of life and property has remained constant.
